This options are not available at air shuttle Santos Dumont/Congonhas/Santos
Dumont, where there are no previous booking for seats and they are subject to
confirmation in remaining routes. Any request for one of our special meals must
be made through our booking system, 24 hours in advance of departure time of
your VARIG flight.

HOW TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF SMILES
Anytime you fly Varig, Rio-Sul and Nordeste with tickets issued at published
fares (except for Varig Air Shuttle Congonhas/Santos Dumont/Congonhas), the
miles flown will be credit in your Smiles Account. The minimum credit will
always be 500 miles, even when the trip is under that limit
When you fly Executive Class, miles will be credited to your Smiles Account with
a 25% bonus. For example: when you fly 1,000 miles, you receive a credit of
1,250 miles.
When you fly First Class, the bonus will have 50% extra, in other words, when
you travel the same 1,000 miles, you have 1,500 miles credited in your Smiles
Account.

Tickets
You can exchange your miles balance for free tickets, which will be issued in
your name or your direct relatives’ names, with two-way dates booked to all
places served by VARIG, Rio-Sul and Nordeste and their Smiles partners.
For domestic trips or international trips in South America (including Brazil),
the tickets do not allow (stopover). For international trips outside of South
America, origin and destiny will always be cities served by VARIG, Rio-Sul,
Nordeste or one of their partners and one (stopover) will be allowed, as long as
it be out of flight origin continent. For example: If the trip is originated in
South America and destiny is Europe, the only stopover stopover allowed must be
in Europe.
Upgrades Upgrade Awards
If you wish you can exchange your miles credit for upgrades, i.e., a change to
the Class immediately superior to the one in the purchased ticket. For example:
You can buy an Economic Class ticket and, using your miles balance, travel in
the Executive Class.
GENERAL INFORMATION
Will be considered for the Smiles Program those tickets issued at published
fares, except for Varig Air Shuttle Congonhas/Santos Dumont/Congonhas. Award
tickets, tickets at promotional fares (ID, AD, CG, etc.) for charter flights,
Brazil Air Pass, Mercosul Air Pass and those subject to specific conditions -
such as extra seats - will not be valid for mileage credit.
The mileage awards are not applicable to luggage allowance excess or cargo
transportation.
Award tickets cannot be used during following blackout periods :
Flights in South America :
. De 1o From July 1-31 (including those days).
Intercontinental flights :
. June 15 to July 15 - flight originated in South America
. July 15 to August 15 (including those days) - destination South America
To all flights :
December 15 to January 15 and from previous Thursday until Saturday after
Carnival (including those days).
